Kalamata Dance Megaron

DIGITAL EXHIBITION OF CHILDREN’S ART IN COLLABORATION WITH THE MUSEUM OF CYCLADIC ART

KALLOS: For me this is Beauty

About the exhibition

For the third year in a row, the Kalamata Dance Festival joined forces with the Museum of Cycladic Art within the framework of the 9th children’s art contest entitled KALLOS: For me this is Beauty, which took place online from December 15, 2021 to April 17, 2022. Through a game reminiscent of puzzles, this year’s contest invited children to contemplate and create images that captured the meaning of beauty to them. The works of children aged 4-15 years old from the wider area of Kalamata who participated in the contest will be displayed in a digital exhibition also titled KALLOS: For me this is Beauty, which will be held at the Foyer of the Kalamata Dance Megaron from 15 to 24 July.

6,000 children from Greece and abroad participated in this year’s children’s art contest. There were 350 entries from the prefecture of Messinia, with one student being awarded in the Kindergarten category and another 4 receiving honourable distinctions in different categories.

The winner from Kalamata is:

  • 3rd prize: Dimitris Karakasilis — Kindergarten / 18th Kindergarten of Kalamata

The four students from the areas of Kalamata and Gargalianoi to receive honourable distinctions are:

  • Eleni Michalopoulou — Ε.Ε.Ε.Ε.Ε.Κ. / Kalamata Vocational School of Specialised Education & Training
  • Eugenia Stavrianea — Kindergarten / 18th Kindergarten of Kalamata
  • Giorgos Mourafetis — 1st Grade / 21st Primary School of Kalamata
  • Artemis-Dimitra Terizaki — Kindergarten / 1st Kindergarten of Gargalianoi

Admission to the exhibition is free on a first-come-first-served basis.
